Virgin Media- Mobile Broadband Services

Following last year's Virgin victory, this was again a strong showing from Virgin Media. This should not come as far too much of a shock, seeing as Virgin Mobile uses the same network as this year's runaway winner, T-Mobile - it has obviously made the best choice in who to hitch a ride from in the world of mobile broadband.

We were not so avid on the glossy finish of this years dongle, the TCT X200S, but it is fascinating to notice the 2 leading 2010 trip dongles were manufactured by corporations aside from Huawei. The software that came with it was not anything to draft home about either, but we did not really have any beefs - fairly typical fare. Overall, if you do not truly spot the dongle and its software, you are most probably not grousing, so candidly they are the classes least worth troubling about.

At the business end the Virgin Media took awards in both the download and upload classes, establishing once again that T-Mobile's network has a good time of it now. Whether or not that is as it isn't having to support any iPhone deals is a matter for conjecture, nonetheless it actually can not be doing any harm. But we probably did have some problems with stability.

These were typically overwhelmed by its general speed and a weird capability to keep connected in tunnels, but its failure to download one or two files from the BBC web site should be slight cause for concern. Having said that, its average speed test results and slick streaming still saw it take the runner-up award for Best Downloader 2010. For the second year running, we would be very happy to suggest this dongle.
